This colonial building dated as
far back as the late 1880s, when it was known as the Raffles Library and Museum. It survived the
Second World War, and the museum was later separated from the library. Following independence in
1965, it was renamed National Museum . This historically-rich building was given a complete
redevelopment in 2004, and was recently completed in December 2006.
